WHO I AM

Hi, I'm Igal. You can call me Iggy.

I've rebuilt my life and my career more than once, on purpose, because staying somewhere that didn't fit wasn't getting me anywhere. That instinct is what I now help my clients act on.

For a long time, I made myself fit the mold I was handed. Great grades, volunteering, the youth council, then law school, lawyer, consultant. I did everything I was expected to do. I'm also gay, I have ADHD, and eventually I moved my whole life to a country that wasn't mine, to build one that felt right. For years I kept the parts that didn't fit out of sight, at work and everywhere else. I only found out what that was costing me once I stopped. That's the work I do with clients now: not managing the parts of yourself that don't fit, but building a life around them. Whether it's sexual identity, ADHD, immigration, or a career you've outgrown, I coach from lived experience, so I know which questions people usually walk around. I ask them, even when they're hard to sit with, and we stay with them together until you know what you're going to do about it.

Experience has taught me that the best answers rarely come from someone else's advice. They come from a good question, asked at the right moment, with someone who isn't judging you.

I've also been the one managing others. I've hired, promoted, and restructured, without ever looking like the default picture of "the person in charge." So when we talk about workplace dynamics, a role that's stopped fitting, or a team going through a reorg, I'm not theorizing. But none of that makes me the expert on your life or your team. You already have more of the answer than you think, and the work is finding it.

Background

Where I Come From

  • Career Span Click to read Over a decade in client-facing roles, from individual contributor to Associate Director. The title kept changing. Psychological safety was always the actual job.
  • Law Background Click to read Trained as a corporate and civil lawyer in Israel before pivoting into ESG. LL.B, Hebrew University of Jerusalem; LL.M in Public Law, magna cum laude, Tel Aviv University and Northwestern. What stayed with me wasn’t the contracts, it was the stories of the plaintiffs I was trying to help.
  • Sustainability & Social Impact Click to read Three years as a Sustainability and Social Impact Consultant at Grant Thornton Israel, running sustainability reporting and stakeholder workshops for some of the country’s largest corporates. What I loved about the job was asking questions people didn’t always have answers to, and helping them figure out where they wanted to go.
  • Building Teams Click to read Built Morningstar Sustainalytics’ Amsterdam corporate value-added solutions team from scratch, and supported the creation of the Mumbai team. Later, led the investor client service team, running everything from hiring to career planning. Different team, same instinct: build the thing that lets people actually do the work and deliver results.
  • Leading Through Change Click to read Became manager of the entire global corporate value-added solutions team, spanning Toronto, Mumbai, and Amsterdam, right as a strategic change was rolling out. Later, in a different role, planned and executed a major shift in the client service team operating model, and built the enablement plan that carried it through. Both times, the real work wasn’t executing the change. It was keeping people steady, resilient, and focused on the goal, while the ground moved under them.
  • Civil Society Leadership (Hoshen) Click to read Chaired the board of Hoshen, Israel’s leading LGBTQ+ NGO for Education and Change, the tail end of nine years that started with volunteer workshops in schools, sharing my coming-out story. Time after time I saw firsthand how a room changes faster from hearing one true story than from being told what to think. Coaching works the same way. Not telling you what to think, feel, or do, just helping you find the answers already in your own story.

On a personal note

A Few Things That Are Not On My CV

  • Amsterdam, by choice Originally from Israel. Building a life somewhere new turned out to be slow, ordinary work, and worth it.
  • My home team Married to Dor. A few years ago we brought our cat, Keta, into the family. Since then, my phone is full of pictures of him looking cute.
  • Three languages (almost...) Hebrew, English, and a work-in-progress French.
  • I sing (not only in the shower) And I love it. Part of the Amsterdam Gay Men’s Chorus.
  • Happiest outdoors Hiking on land, diving at sea, or traveling to new places.
